In my recent experience, (staying at the Ellerman House in Cape Town and going to Antarctica on a separate trip), you can’t beat this combination of staying at the exclusive Ellerman House in Cape Town and then taking a private jet to Antarctica.

– Ellerman House is offering guests an exceptional 24-hour excursion to Antarctica, in collaboration with White Desert, the only company in the world to offer a Gulfstream private jet to access Antarctica. This experience has space for 12 people, for the ultimate in adventure and luxury, available to guests from December 8, 2017 – January 15, 2018.

After arriving in Cape Town and enjoying a few days of complete relaxation at Ellerman House, guests will be primed and ready to take on the ‘Greatest Day’ – a 24 hour round-trip to Antarctica. This Antarctic adventure is set to depart in the African night on a private Gulfstream jet for a quick five-and-a-half hour flight. Guests will travel over thousands of icebergs, entering into 24 hours of continuous sunshine.

Landing at the specially prepared ice runway, travelers will then be transferred by 4x4s to the magnificent Schirmacher Oasis. A land of cliffs, lakes and science bases – all of which will be explored throughout the day. With an aim to spend eight hours on the ground, guests can partake in a host of activities ranging from completely gentle to as adrenaline-fueled as wanted. Expert guides are on hand to escort guests every step of the way.

The day culminates with a gourmet champagne dinner, in celebration of the spectacular setting that is Antarctica, and a night spent in a heated fibreglass sleeping pod.

A private Gulfstream jet whisks you to Antarctica from Cape Town on a a quick five-and-a-half hour flight.

Landing back in Cape Town 24 hours later, guests will return to Ellerman House after the Antarctica adventure.  If 24 hours is not enough to satisfy guests’ need to explore the white desert, then they can consider going for the four-day or eight-day experience.

On the four-day and eight-day adventures, guests will have the unique opportunities to learn how to rock climb on the nearby ‘Nunatak’ mountain, venture into the heart of Antarctica to get up close to the Emperor Penguins, delve into the ice-tunnels to explore the ice waves beneath the camp, and then head on to the lowest point on earth – the South Pole.
