First hour, first day in Europe at the Frankfurt Airport

College co-ed takes off for study abroad. Italy. Packing lightly

Departure for Italy at 4am. Six months. Two bags. Packing lightly.

The two weeks before my departure were a whirlwind of activity and emotions: stress, excitement, anxiety, parties, sad goodbyes, painful packing and uncomfortable unpacking.

Great. I can order a beer at age 20 here.

My jet lag remedy. I’ve heard some people drink a cold beer in a hot shower to minimize the agonizing effects of jet lag.  The beer put me to sleep on my final flight to Florence. I missed views of Germany, Switzerland and the snow-covered Alps below I’ll get back to see those countries soon. I have six month to travel on weekends and  I’m planning a ski trip to Interlocken Switzerland in a few weeks.
